Frances Marie Gilmore, 74, of Waco, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with the Reverend Buddy Sipe officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, on Monday, March 10th at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Gilmore was born on December 10, 1939 in Waco, Texas to James Philip and Grace (Woodlock) Powell. She married Harlon Joe Gilmore of the USMC in June 1957 in Waco and they celebrated over 11 years together before his death on January 23, 1969 in Quang Nam Province, Viet Nam. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Gilmore loved gardening and animals. She was also a talented ceramic artist. Mrs. Gilmore worked for the Waco Tribune Herald for over 46 years as a member of the Waco Typographical Union, serving as treasurer for several years.
Survivors include her daughter; Pamela Gilmore of Waco, son; Stephen Gilmore of Hewitt and grandson; James Philip Gilmore of Waco.
