

Graveside services for James Michael “Mickey” and Sharon Kay (Duncan) McClindan will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15th at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Mrs. McClindan was born on September 2, 1942 in Waco, Texas to Travis Edward and Alene (Grusendorf) Duncan; she passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 at her residence.
Mr. McClindan was born on April 4, 1944 in Aroka, Oklahoma to Oakie and Grace (Hood) McClindan; he passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at his residence.
They were married on June 1, 1963 in Waco, Texas and they celebrated over 52 wonderful years together.
Mrs. McClindan loved to cross stitch, read and the Dallas Cowboys. She was a member of the Elk Lodge and retired from Farm Bureau after 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mr. McClindan served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961 – 1967 in the Philippines. He loved traveling, reading, gardening and was a member of the Orchid Society and the Elk Lodge. Mr. McClindan was a volunteer fireman in Elm Mott and retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Jack, Ray and Bill and a sister; Sherry.
Survivors include their nieces and nephews; Jodie and Mike, Jay and Marlu and Jeff and Kim and multiple great and great-great nieces and nephews. Even though they didn’t have children they looked after their nieces and nephews as their own.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
