Louise P. Mexia, 94, peacefully passed away on Feb 4th, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born in Atwood, California, to Pete and Christina Perez, Louise moved to Texas after she wed Henry Mexia, Jr. They were married for 62 years. They had four children, Louis Mexia, Lucy Rogers, Christine Scott, and Laura Lewis; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Louise never knew a stranger. Her love for cooking, sewing, baking, and gardening was a blessing to all. She was very active in volunteer work which included the Ladies Altar Society and Meals on Wheels in Big Spring, Texas. She will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be at 6 pm on Thursday, February 8, with a rosary to follow at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors at 4400 West Waco Drive, Waco, Texas.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 9th, at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church at 9820 Chapel Road, Waco, Texas.
