Michael Frank Duge, Sr., 71, went to his eternal resting home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. He was born on September 19, 1949 in Buffalo, NY to William Jack Duge and Ann Marie Duge (Bankard). He grew up in Gasport, NY and was an army veteran who served in Vietnam. He met his soul mate, Linda Friedli, while attending school at the University of Texas at El Paso in 1972 and they were married a year later. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage and had four children and four grandchildren. He spent the majority of his career working in retail sales at Sears in Waco where he built a loyal following of friends and customers. He served as a mentor to many part-time and full time associates and retired in 2013. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, swimming, bowling, watching wrestling, football, and old movies but his favorite hobby was his family. Spending time with his grandchildren (Colby, Addison, Elliekate and Jack) was the highlight of his day. He enjoyed daily Facetime calls with them and took advantage of every opportunity he could to be with them in person. He was crazy about his “baby” Beau, who is a 10 year old Pekingese poodle. He was the most selfless husband, father, and “Grandad” that a family could ask for. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, step-parents, sister, and nephew. Survivors include his wife, Linda Duge of Waco, son, Michael Duge Jr. of Waco, daughter, Kelly Duge Summers of Austin, son Richard Duge and wife Heather of Dallas, son, Matthew Duge of Waco, grandchildren Colby and Addison Summers of Austin, Elliekate and Jack Duge of Dallas, brother, William Duge and wife Anna of London, brother in law Richard Friedli and wife Lisa of China Spring, Sister in law Lorilee Kolb and husband Scott of Woodway, and nephews Josh Atkinson and wife Debrina and children, Richard Friedli and Megan, Kurt Friedli and wife Lisa and child, and Matthew Kolb. His family misses him, but we know we will see him again. John 14:1-6.
