

Sandra graduated from University high school. After high school she worked as a waitress and seamstress at Waco Apparel. She returned to college and graduated from the Police Academy. Sandra became a police officer for the city of Mart in 1988. Later, as a care giver for many, she continued her calling by offering comfort, patience, and unwavering support for those in need. She treated everyone like family.
Beyond her professional life Sandra was know as an exceptional cook, and found great joy in bringing people together around the table. Sandra was an avid quilter, crafter, and seamstress. She poured love into every stitch and project creating beautiful, meaningful, pieces that will be cherished for generations. From a very early age Sandra loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and camping. She was also a skilled gardener. She loved the process of cultivating, nourishing, and watching her garden grow. She was an amazing listener and was always ready to take on her loved one’s problems as her own. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
A resident of Waco, Texas, Sandra was known for her warm spirit and kindness. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her Brother Terry Puryear and wife Kitty, nieces Heather Hague husband John, Jamie Puryear, and Katie Kirkby husband Hayden. Great nephews, Hayden Hague, Connor Hague, and Tucker Lessman. Bother Marvin Puryear and wife Vicky. Nieces Lori Singleton and Lisa Brinegar, nephew Josh Puryear. She also leaves behind many close friends and extended family whom she cherished.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Reverend David Cozart Officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
