

Andrew Park Sr., 81, was called home to Heaven to reunite with his beloved wife, Cecelia Roback Park, on June 27, 2023, surrounded by his family at Maui Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 13, 1942 in Pukuilua, Puʻuiki, Hāna, Maui to John Park Sr. and Katherine Helekahi Park.
He is now at peace with his loved ones who is predeceased; His siblings John Boy Jr, Martin, Kauanoe, Simeon, Dorthy Krause, Barbara Hockenhull, and Ulu Park. He is survived by his sister’s, Nancy Cosma, Eunice Kahaleuahi, Monica Rheinardt, Loretta Park, Tammy Kanakaole, and his youngest Brother Matthew (Gloria) Park. He leaves behind his 8 children, Lehua Cosma, Andrew (Stella) Park Jr., Jamie Park, William Bill -John (Danielle) Park, Leone (Rayna) Helekahi, Katherina Park, Shana (Jerome) Pinheiro and hanai son Kimo Kalei Pu, and was embraced with love by his 23 Grandchildren, 66 Great Grand and 4 Great Great Grand, as well as the many friends and families who he has touched.
Dad will be remembered as “Papa” by all and for his passionate love of fishing. He was a lifelong Fisherman who shared his knowledge and skills in diving, surrounding Akule, and all the fishing spots he would go to. He taught many how to make a fishing net, how to pick bamboo and how to burn it. He was good in catching black crab at night. He was so happy going fishing on his boat with his grand kids. A boat that he named “Not Bad”. He would make it a family event hooking fish on the pier. He would line up his bamboo’s and would just hook up one after the other. He was truly blessed with his passion.
He worked various jobs to support his family. Hawaiian Airlines in Hana, Lifeguard at Hamoa Beach, Parks & Recreation, and Night Security for Hotel Hana Maui.
He retired from the County of Maui Solid Waste Division as a heavy equipment Operator. Where he was honored as Employee of the Year for turning the Hana Land fill into the most beautiful place. He loved to use the cuttings that people would dump. He planted beautiful plumeria trees for the children of Hana School so they would have flowers for Mayday. There was even a wedding held at the landfill because of its beauty.
Thank you our Daddy and Papa for we will miss you dearly, we love you. Go play your harmonica and rest high on that mountain.
A funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Church in Hana on July 29th from 9am till 11am. Burial to follow at Pu‘uiki cemetery.
