

In loving memory of Josefina Acoba Sagayaga, born in Bacarra, Philippines in 1935, and peacefully passed away on July 23, 2023. She was a devoted wife to Agapito Sagayaga, whom she married in 1959, and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Josefina was a remarkable woman known for her patience, love, generosity, and thoughtfulness. She had a selfless nature, always prioritizing the needs of others above her own. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she lovingly cared for and helped raise many children she babysat throughout the years.
One of Josefina's greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their laughter and presence brought immense happiness to her heart. She cherished every moment shared with them, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all.
In her free time, Josefina participated in various hobbies that brought her great joy. She had a passion for traveling and exploring new places. Her skilled hands found comfort in sewing, creating beautiful blankets and cherished keepsakes. Cooking was another talent she possessed, delighting her loved ones with delicious meals that brought everyone together. Josefina also had a green thumb and found peace in tending to her garden.
Before the pandemic, Josefina enjoyed socializing with friends at the Kaunoa Center, where she found companionship and shared laughter. These moments were cherished, and the friendships she cultivated were a testament to her warm and welcoming nature.
Josefina Acoba Sagayaga will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who mourn her loss.
Josefina is predeceased by her husband; Agapito Sagayaga. She is survived by her children; Edith Sagayaga Goertz, Arthur Sagayaga (Chit), Maryann Sagayaga Calibuso. Her grandchildren; Shannon (Nova) Sagayaga, Ian (Jasmine) Sagayaga, Kylie (Jonathan) Paet, Kyson Calibuso, Her great grandchildren; Zeyden Sagayaga, Aycen Sagayaga, Xavian Sagayaga, Xydrian Sagayaga, Her siblings; Celo Acoba (Philippines), Justo Acoba (Predeceased), Felix Acoba & Aurea Viernes.
Funeral Services will be held at Norman's Mortuary Wailuku on Monday, August 7th, 2023- Family Viewing to start at 8am, Public viewing to start at 9am, Prayer service at 11:30am with burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park Wailuku at 12:30pm.
