Jovita Kempis Maurillo

Jovita Kempis Maurillo, 81, of Kihei, Maui passed away on June 27th 2025 at Hospice Maui in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii. She was born in Dulag, Leyte, Philippines on August 22, 1943 to Augustin & Tarciana Kempis.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku, Maui. Public Visitation at 6:00 p.m.; Service at 6:30 p.m. A 2nd day service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Makawao, Maui. Public Visitation at 9:30 a.m.; Mass at 11:00 a.m.; Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Jovita is survived by her husband Lito Maurillo. She is also survived by her children Myla & Matthew Onellion, Maribel & Paul Barton, and Marvin Maurillo; grandchildren Mardy & Sherlyn, Myljon & May Ann, Greathel & Poly, Kent & Stephanie, Jason, Annamae, Kaitlyn, and Joshua; great grandchildren Gabriel, Pol Francis, Hanzel Melchizedek, Prince Larry, Greachel, David James Ezra, Sophia Grace, Emmanuel John, Kenzo Raphael, and Kaizen Gabriel; and sister Cleofe.

She is predeceased by her daughters Grace Maurillo and Michelle Maurillo; and grandchildren Gellie, Donna Mae, Matthew Gabriel, Mary Grace, and Mikko Wency.

Jovita loved gardening, praying the rosary, being outdoors, cooking, cleaning, and organizing. She also enjoyed being with friends at the Senior Community Center as well as being with family and serving her family.

She will be dearly missed.
