Maria Leticia Escamilla, 47, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on November 29, 2012 at Maui Memorial Medical Center after a valiant battle with Multiple Myeloma for 4 ½ years. She was born August 15, 1965 in Dallas, Texas.
Family and friends are invited to gather on December 14, 2012 at Borthwick Norman’s Mortuary, with visitation from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Leticia most recently was a homemaker and previously was a Basic Forelady with Maui Pine.
She is survived by her life partner, Simone C. Polak; mother, Maria De Los Angeles Garcia Rangel; sisters, Guillermina Escamilla Garcia, Hilda Garza Garcia, Luz Elena Garcia Rangel and her beloved unofficial therapy “dog” Bamboo.
Family request no flowers, casual attire.
Special thanks to: Dr. Ted Keyes and the entire Kaiser Permanente Oncology staff for their devoted care of Leticia; Reza Danesh, MD and the ER nurses at Maui Memorial Medical Center, who saved her life and gave us just a little bit longer with Leticia; the MMMC ICU staff at Kaiser Moanalua Hospital and finally the nurses, PT, OT Respiratory and Speech therapists at the MMMC Haleakala South ward who made Leticia’s last days worthwhile.
