Anna Josephine (Santopadre) Clavelli passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, in Norwood, Massachusetts at the age of 104. She was born to the late Tullio and Vincenza (Sarra) Santopadre on Sunday, August 1, 1915, in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents immigrated early in the 20th century to Chicago, Illinois from Sora, Italy. She was a wife of 41 years to Victor Lollini Clavelli who predeceased her in 1979.
Anna is survived by her five children: Louis Clavelli and wife, Estelle of Dedham, Massachusetts; Victor Clavelli, Jr. and wife, Gloria of Papillion, Nebraska; Rita Griffith of Oviedo, Florida; Virginia Lamontagne of Rochester, New Hampshire; and Fred Clavelli and wife, Suzanne of Chantilly, Virginia. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Anna grew up in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated from Austin High School. Following graduation, she was employed in an import-export business before leaving to raise a family. During World War II, she and her husband moved to Washington, DC, where Anna spent twenty years working for the Library of Congress. She retired in 1980 and later moved to DeBary, Florida. In 2013, she moved to Dedham, Massachusetts.
Anna was the cherished sister of Clara Steele and Lorraine Foster of DeBary, Florida. She was predeceased by four other siblings: Mary Calabrese, Arnold Santopadre, Fred, Santopadre, and Dorothy Matturri, as well as, one grandchild, Thomas Eisert.
Anna was deeply loved by family and friends. She leaves a legacy of hard work and devotion to family. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Maryland.
