Edith Rae Simon passed away quietly on October 14, 2011 at Southern Maryland Hospital at the age of 87, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Simon was a resident of Brandywine, Maryland. She retired from the Prince George's County School System. For most of her life she was active in many service organizations and was past president of the Brandywine Lionesses Club. A longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, she enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose greatest joy was her children and grandchildren.The family will receive friends at the New Life Church on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. where a service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Following the service the family will be having a Friendship and Fellowship time at the church with refreshments.Burial will be private.
