The youngest of 7 children, Timmy was raised in Capitol Heights, Maryland, with family and childhood friends. He was loved by his very large extended family. He grew up fishing and crabbing with his father and siblings along the shores of the Chesapeake. Timmy was a kind-hearted, easy-going and gentle person. He was the ‘Cool Uncle’ to all his nieces and nephews who enjoyed interacting with all the younger generations in the family and perhaps most of all loved playing practical jokes on his family.
As a young adult, learned the carpentry trade and worked for his brother-in-law’s general contracting company alongside his older brothers: Benny, Ernie, and Mike. Most notable about Timmy’s big personality was his bravery and fearlessness. He showed great strength of will to survive a debilitating vehicle collision. He worked hard to recover his health and rebuild his body, spending countless hours in the gym lifting weights and maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Timmy and his brother Mike shared a home for the last 11 years in Waldorf, MD. They were inseparable. There was nothing they enjoyed more than playing the slot machines at Chesapeake Beach. As a lifelong Redskins fan, he loved rooting for the team.
Timmy is survived by his sister Frances “Oozie” Tranmer (nee Vermillion), Michael “Mike” Vermillion, and Goddaughter Eleanor “Ellie” Brower. He will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind including his beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin “Speed” Vermillion and Mary “Peachie” Vermillion; brothers Benjamin “Benny” Vermillion, Jerry Vermillion, Ernest “Ernie” Vermillion; and sister Dorothy “Dottie” Hawkins (nee Vermillion).
Timmy will be cremated and laid to rest in Fort Lincoln Cemetery alongside his brother Benny and their parents.
