Alvera "Vera" Nawrocki, age 97, died Tuesday, August, 18, 2020 at Shelby Nursing Center in Shelby Township, Michigan. She was born March 21, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Vincenzio and Antionetta (nee: Russo) Dimambro.
It’s been a little over 20 years since Vera was compelled to release her dear Al into the hands of the Father, but not before sharing over 50 years together as husband and wife. Following their marriage, the two eventually welcomed three beautiful boys, Michael, Rick, and Paul, into their home and lives. From their sons came a host of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren,who became some of Vera’s most treasured blessings.
Like most women of Vera’s era, providing for her family was a full-time job. Long before the days of fast food and TV dinners, it was the mothers who planned and prepared the family meals, and Vera had her own style and panache when it came to making mealtimes a special treat. Known for being an outstanding cook, she certainly knew her way around the kitchen.
Vera was also known for her strong and abiding faith in God. That faith guided her path and was a welcome source of strength throughout her life. A longtime member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Warren, Vera was actively involved in many of the church’s events and outreaches over the years. Hers was always a familiar face in the crowd and one that shared a warm and inviting smile.
Vera enjoyed travelling to many locations, but her favorite destination was Michigan’s Canadian Lakes area. It became the family’s special spot to convene. It was where relationships grew dearer and memories grew deeper. But whether it was at Canadian Lakes or simply in her own backyard, being with friends and family meant the world to her.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Vera will also be remembered as the “Best Mother-In-Law on Earth.” A wonderful lady with a good soul, Vera leaves a legacy of love to be embraced by all who were blessed to know her and be loved by her. After touching countless hearts and souls in her journey this side of Heaven, she may now enjoy the blessings prepared for her on the other side. Vera will be missed beyond expression and loved beyond measure.
Vera was the beloved wife of the late Al. Dearest mother of Michael (Gloria) Nawrocki, Rick (Kelly) Nawrocki, and Paul (Jill) Nawrocki. Loving grandmother of Alysia (Steve) Dendrinos, Tony Nawrocki, Nick (Alyssa) Nawrocki, Alex Nawrocki, Tom Nawrocki, Daniel Nawrocki, and great-grandmother of Alex, Nick, and Vera.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home in Warren, Michigan
