Mrs. Ann Marie Garrison, 67, passed away in her sleep on February 16, 2026, succumbing to ALS disease after two years. She was the devoted wife and best friend of Jeffrey Karl Garrison for forty-four years.
Born on March 11, 1958 in Decatur, Indiana, daughter of the late Homer and Vera Rauch, she was preceded in death by two of her older brothers, John and Dan. Six siblings survive her: Jim, Joie, Chum, Pat and Mike, and Lori. Nicknamed “Pete” by her three older brothers, she would always have a great devotion to her adopted patron, Saint Peter.
She attended Saint Joseph Catholic School through her eighth-grade year. While there, her favorite teacher was Sister Gemma, who instilled in her a great love for her Catholic Faith. She then attended Adams Central High School, graduating in 1976.
After about a three year stint as a miscellaneous machine operator at CTS, an electronic components factory, she attended ITT Technical Institute in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she attained her associates degree in Architectural Engineering Technology. While there, she met her future husband. They graduated together in June of 1981 and were married in September of the same year.
In 1987, she moved with her husband and two young daughters to Metro Detroit in 1987, in search of a Chapel with the true Latin Mass and a traditional Catholic School. She dedicated her life to volunteering at the Church, running a religious goods store, “The Bookstore”, for many years.
Her four daughters, Angel Marie, Sister Marie Gertrude, O.P., Mary Theresa, and Gemma Rose survive her, as well as her beloved granddaughters Alix Rose, Erin Ann, and Dani Diane.
Ann was also godmother to twenty three souls and Confirmation sponsor for five. She took responsibility in this matter very seriously, praying for them all and writing to them unfailingly. She was predeceased by two of her godsons. Several of her godchildren are in their fifties and her youngest godchild is just two years old.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 18th, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home (32000 Schoenherr, Warren, MI 48088). Visitation hours will be from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. The Rosary will be said at 6 o’clock.
