Anna M. Sturner, age 83, died May 23, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at Waltonwood Assisted Living in Sterling Heights, Michigan.Anna was born July 25, 1928 in Ferndale, Michigan, the daughter of the late Ernest Hall and the late Maude (nee: Douglas) Hall. Anna and her parents lived in Ferndale for a few years then later moved to Royal Oak where she attended Royal Oak High School and graduated in 1946. A few years later would she meet the love of her life, Harry, the man she took to be her husband in April of 1953, and with whom she shared many blessings of making a house a home, raising two wonderful children, and growing deeper in love with each passing day. When Anna wasn't tending to her children, you could often find her cooking, golfing, playing cards, gardening, having a social hour or two with the girls, or at the church organizing some type of function. She was a woman who was forever on the go'had an upbeat personality and adored being around people. After her husband passed away, Anna became very independent and kept herself busy with odds and ends around the home. Her children also kept her busy with the four grandchildren, Matthew, Sara, Megan and Cara. As years passed Anna's health started to decline but she still managed to keep smiles on everyone's faces and keep everyone laughing. On occasion she would sometimes sneak down to the dining hall at the assisted living home and take a table cloth or two to use as a cape for herself. Other times her daughter would find silverware in a drawer that she would have return to the kitchen when her mother was watching television. She also loved playing hide-and-seek with some of the workers. Every one of the workers enjoyed 'Annie Bananie'' she was the sunshine to their day. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.She was the beloved wife of the late Harry and loving mother of Susan (Sam) Manzella and the late Mark (Judy) Sturner; devoted grandmother of Matthew, and Sara Manzella, Megan (Nick) DiPaola, and Cara Courtney and great grandmother of Isabel DiPaola.
