Born on October 3, 1937, in Michigan to Ernest and Margaret Hibbard, Arrua lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering faith. A proud graduate of high school, she later attended Macomb Community College in 1972, where she pursued her passion for interior decorating.
Arrua will be lovingly remembered for her deep devotion to family, her strong faith in God, and her joyful approach to life. Whether she was decorating for the holidays, enjoying coffee on the porch, watching a movie, singing, dancing, or simply sharing a heartfelt conversation, she brought warmth and happiness to those around her. Her home was filled with laughter, love, and the inviting scent of a clean house—something she took great pride in.
She had a special gift for teaching, always eager to share her wisdom and skills—particularly the art of sewing and the importance of trying. To Arrua, effort was everything. She believed that dreams could come true for anyone who was willing to try, and she lived by the principle of fairness, teaching her children that even cake should be shared justly—"One cuts, the others choose."
Arrua’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She spoke to God often, trusted Him deeply, and gave thanks for all of her blessings. Her belief in the power of prayer was steadfast, and if you needed a prayer, you could count on being added to her church’s list. She saw her ability to help and love others as a gift from God—one she never took for granted.
Arrua is the beloved mother of Joyce (Galen Pond) Keerl, the late Rodney Keerl, the late Michael George Keerl, Michael Todd (Jeanette) Keerl, Linda Keerl, the late George Keerl, Jr., and Jeannie (Eric) Craig. She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Chris and Matthew Pond, Chris and Michelle Keerl, Arrua Keerl, Robert and Adam Keerl, and Elizabeth “Lizzy” and Andrew Craig. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Jaxyn Pond, Aalyiah (Dawson) Pond, Zachary Pond, Ava Pond, Harper Pond, Connor Keerl, and Isabella Pattison.
Arrua’s legacy is one of love, generosity, faith, and the belief that kindness can change the world—one hug at a time. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A visitation for Arrua will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, Michigan 48088.
