Arthur Leonard Farley, age 77, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. He was born May 19, 1939 in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Chester Farley and the late Bertha (nee: Bissonette) Farley.Born and raised in Port Huron, Arthur was a proud graduate of Port Huron High School where he worked diligently to earn his coveted diploma. It wasn't long afterwards that he decided to answer the call of patriotism and devotion to America by enlisting in the military to support our country. Electing the United States Air Force as his branch of choice, Arthur served with honor and bravery, and with a willingness to stand in harm's way for the sake of freedom. With thanks and praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Arthur for his services rendered and the sacrifices made.Arthur was blessed to have shared his later years with a lady who swept him off his feet and into the throes of marriage, his beloved Barb. After a period of getting close and building upon a loving relationship, the two lovebirds answered the call of their hearts and became husband & wife on June 3, 1996. Arthur & Barb made their home in Warren, and is where they enjoyed many happy and fulfilling years together.Possessing the skills as a machinist, Arthur's career history spanned a handful of various shops, but it was at the Wickman Corporation that he spent the lion's share of his employment years and from where he ultimately accepted his well-deserved retirement. When Arthur wasn't working, one of his treasured passions was enjoying the game of baseball. The great American sport brought him countless hours of pleasure and did much to feed his sporting desires. Another of his passions was partaking of a nice, ice cold beer,…and often, it made for a perfect complement to taking in a rousing ballgame. Yet of all the joys that embodied Arthur's life, perhaps the most endearing of them all was the special affection he held for his furry, four-legged friend, "Joy,"…quite appropriately named. Joy was a cute, little Pomeranian who was packed with the love to fill a St. Bernard. As any pet owner & lover will attest, the emotions one feels about their furry friends transcends whatever words can describe, and that was certainly the case with Joy & Arthur. The two enjoyed many years together, and Arthur was devastated when Joy died. It wasn't easy living without Joy, but we survivor's can take heart (and garner a smile) knowing that Arthur & Joy will enjoy a warm and eternal reunion.A loving husband, father and grandfather, Arthur leaves behind a storehouse of wonderful memories for all to treasure who were blessed to know him. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally. He was the beloved husband of Barbara. Dear father of Arthur, Kurt, Patrick, and many step-children. Loving grandfather of Rachel, Jacob, Hannah, Anthony, Brandon, and many step grandchildren. Brother of Geraldine, Harriett, and Elinore. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. A Memorial Visitation for Arthur will be held on Sunday, August 14th, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren. Please share memories at his guest book above.
