Beatrice Mae Butters

Beatrice Mae "Betty" Butters, (nee: Raymo) of Superior Township, died Tuesday, March 04, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born March 14, 1924 in Norfolk, New York the daughter of the late Benjamin Raymo and the late Alice (nee: Deleel) Raymo. Betty was raised in the metro Detroit area graduating from Fordson High School. During the War she worked in a factory and later worked for Smith Rexall Drug Store. The majority of Bettys life was spent caring for her family as a homemaker. Her family remembers her as more than just a mother; she was their hero, best friend, a role model, teacher, and mentor, whom always provided unconditional love. Betty was a woman who came from small means and never asked for more. She always put others first before herself, and if you had just met her she would capture your heart, a woman not to be forgotten. Mrs. Butters was a gifted musician playing the accordion, organ, and piano. She also enjoyed playing practical jokes and had a wonderful sense of humor. She surrounded her home with plants and flowers. And as soft and loving of woman which she could be, she also was stern but fair when her children needed discipline. At the end of the day her family was her true devotion. She relentlessly cheered on her grandsons hockey as an avid fan and dedicated Hockey Grandma. Mrs. Butters is the dearest mother of Robin (Marquetta) Walters, David (Pamela) Walters, Sandra (Delmont) Hicks, Theresa (Chris) Schornack, and Patrick (Michael Collins) Butters. Sister of Roy T. Raymo, Juanita Barton, Rebecca Hurren, and the late Kenneth Raymo, and the late Benjamin Raymo Jr. She is also the loving grandmother of Kim, Ashley, Christopher, Christopher Ben, Theresa Ann, Rob, Marcy, Sean, and great-grandmother of Courtney, Briana, Safire, Tyenia, Michael, Chelsy, and Benjamin. Visitation for Mrs. Butters will be Friday from 2pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 7pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile).
