

Betty Bronson Ling, age 90, formerly of Detroit and Haines City, Florida, passed away on February 3, 2010 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio, Michigan. Betty was born in Detroit, the only child of the late Alexander and the late Mabel (LaFleur) Parrish. She lived in Detroit for most of her life, marrying Edwin Bronson in 1941 and raising a family of two daughters and a son. After Ed's passing in 1967, Betty remained in Detroit until her retirement from the Detroit Public School System. She then moved to Utica where she met and married the late Allan Ling in 1986, welcoming his son, daughter and three more grandchildren into her life. Surviving Betty are sons, Tom Bronson and David (Kathy) Ling; daughters, Nancy Gay (Richard) Dimock, Linda (Steve) Busick, and Marie (Douglas) McDougal. Loving grandmother of Susan Milton, Jill Waldecker, Ed and Jon Dimock, Michael and Matthew Bronson, and Michael, Duane and Elisabeth Ling. She also leaves 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Grace Weible; dear cousins, Stan and Margaret Powers; daughter-in-law, Gloria Bronson; lifelong friend, Marcella Yutendale Bouck; and caring friend, Debbi Opalewski. Betty was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Diahann Bronson. The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Woods Manor in Clio, Michigan for making Betty's last years comfortable and pleasant.
