Catherine grew up in Detroit with her family and attended school there until her father became in ill and then stayed home to take care of him. It certainly was in her nature to care and comfort people. She had a heart of gold and loved caring for others.
She met her future husband William and knew it was love at first sight. In June of 1966, the two love birds said "I do" before all of their friends and family at St. Phillip's Church in Detroit, Michigan. After the wedding the two resided in Detroit for a few years before building their house in Clinton Township. Bill's work then transferred the family with a move to Clarkston. This didn't last long since another transfer was in the works and the family once again relocated to St. Clair Shores where they could ultimately call home. The two were an unstoppable duo, they conquered so many things by doing everything together. They enjoyed traveling together to West Branch where they had a cottage that they could sit & relax and watch their children just be kids.
Catherine’s family meant the most to her. She enjoyed getting together whatever the occasion. From graduations, weddings, baptisms, birthdays, you could always count on her to be there with William by her side. She had an impeccable memory for the dates of these occasions and you could always count on Catherine to bring the homemade cake.
As much as Catherine liked to cook, once her eyesight started causing her trouble she knew things would change. Bill and she made the best of it. Since they loved to socialize, he made it easier on Catherine by going out to dinner so she wouldn’t have to cook or clean up. You could find them at many restaurants in the St. Clair Shores area where many of the waitresses and waiters knew them by name. Known for her heart of gold, she formed lifelong friendships and continues to make new connections, and she was always generous even in challenging times.
She was the beloved wife of the William. Dear mother of Sharon Roberts, Kathleen (Robert) Morford, William Jr. (Jane) Bell, and the late Karen Bell. Loving grandmother of Breanna Obrecht, Brittany Morford, Justyn Misiak, Logan Misiak, Marissa Morford, Liliana Jane Bell, and great-grandmother of Ava Rose Cheatham, and Riley Nicole Karolak. Sister of Frank (Marie) Ferrara, Patricia (Steve) Harubin, Richard Ferrera, and the late Maryann (the late Gene) Young, and the late Anthony Ferrara. She was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.
Her visitation will be held on Wednesday, 3pm-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road). Thursday she will lie in state at 10am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores.
