Affectionately known as “Pumpkin” to many, Celesta loved her family and friends more than anything. A graduate of Windsor Mountain High School, Celesta went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy at Wayne State University. Collectively, Celesta served as a pharmacist for 38 years working primarily at Detroit Medical Center (DMC) and CVS pharmacy. On any day with good weather, Celesta could usually be found working in her yard, or “playing in the dirt,” as she usually called it. Celesta amused herself with knitting, arts and crafts, and she recently learned and mastered crocheting. As a perfectionist, she mastered any new hobby she tried. Celesta was fond of playing Bid Whist and Scrabble with family and friends. She loved laughing and finding simple ways to have fun. She found comfort in listening to music such as Jazz, R&B, old school, and Mozart.
Celesta was baptized as a tween and she was devoted to her faith as a Christian. Celesta was a member of Better Life Church of Eastpointe until her health declined. Celesta remained a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and a supporting wife/partner until her passing. A beloved mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, Celesta will be deeply missed by all who survive her.
