Charles Phares, age 34, died suddenly on March 17, 2009. He was born in Detroit on August 18, 1974 to parents, Gabriel & Georgia Phares. Charles was a 1992 graduate of De La Salle High School. From there, he went on to further his education where he graduated in 1997 from Michigan State University. When not working hard as an Independent Sales Representative, Charles enjoyed the lighter side of life which was filled with a number of activities, hobbies and pastimes. He was known as a sports enthusiast, one of his favorites being that of football. And when it came to actually competing himself, there wasn't a dart board or a foosball table that didn't have his name on it. He could sling both like a Champ! He also enjoyed the sunshine and outdoors in the game of golf and rousing challenges on the billiards table. Another interest of Charlie's was born when he discovered the joy of woodcarving. It is through this venue that his artistic & creative side really shined. When it came time for the enjoyment of things at home, the fun was truly realized in sharing the game of Euchre with family and friends. He was good at the game, but will probably be remembered most for the prankster he was with his fellow cardmates. Another card game he loved was Cribbage. He and Ann enjoyed their cribbage games, together, immensely. It was meaningful enough that he used his woodcarving skills to surprise the love of his life with her own cribbage peg board. Charles was also one who truly appreciated his music, as evidenced by his vast album collection. He enjoyed attending concerts and making memories in everything tune-related. Whether it was rockin' out to the sounds of Stevie Nicks, the Dave Matthews Band, or countless other favorites but music was his life! Charles was also a most giving and unselfish person, as noted by his donation to the Gift of Life which will help to make a difference in the lives of others. It is for reasons like this, and so many more, that Charles was loved so dearly by his family and friends and enjoyed their company as well. He will be missed immensely and remembered forever. Beloved son of Gabriel & Georgia, Charles also leaves his dear sister and brother, Lisa Phares and Gabriel (Lynette) Phares. Loving companion of Ann Latorella. Grandson of Helen Phares and Uncle to Briana and Tate. Visitation for Charles will be on Friday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. He will lie in state on Saturday 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Clement Catholic Church, 8075 Ritter Avenue in Center Line, Michigan. Please share memories of Charles at his guest book.
