Chester Joseph Jarosz Jr.

Chester Joseph Jarosz Jr, age 87, long-time resident of Warren, MI, was peacefully called to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Oakleigh of Macomb. He was surrounded by loving family members.

Chester was born on July 16, 1936, to the late Chester Sr and Helen Jarosz. Preceding him in death was also his beloved wife of 60 years, Roberta (d. January 24, 2019). His brother, Robert, also predeceased him.

Chester is survived by his children Michael (Jennifer) Jarosz, Karen (Mark) Germeroth, Sharon (John) Benson and Mark (Amy) Jarosz. Grandchildren David, Matthew (Erin), Sarah (Seth), Thomas, Daniel (Dana), Robert (Leanne), Christine, John, Michael, Paul (Casandra), Jessica (Austin), Brian (Katie) and Nicole. Great grandchildren Avery, Aidan, Samuel, Eleanor, Luke, Liam, Evelyn. Sister-in-law Sandra and brother-in-law Ken (Mary). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Chester was raised in Hamtramck and Detroit. He attended the University of Detroit and Lawrence Tech University, graduating with a Building Construction Degree. He was employed with Park-Davis/Warner Lambert for 40 years.

Chester was a devoted member of St Edmund (Faustina) Catholic Church for nearly 50 years. He was as an usher, Christian Service member, St Paul Retreat coordinator/participant, and Catholic Service Appeal canvasser. He was also an avid bowler and golfer, achieving a 300 game and hole-in-one. His love of sports extended into co-founding a summer baseball and basketball program for ages 8-16. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events and traveling throughout the USA and Europe with his beloved wife. He treasured time with his family and friends and would be there to lend his support. Chester will be remembered for his Christian spirit, humor, and warm presence; he was loved by all and will be truly missed.

Friends may visit the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd, Warren, Michigan 48088 on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Sunday, August 6 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary service at 7:00 PM on Sunday.

Chester will lie in state on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of the 10:30 AM funeral mass at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 Twelve Mile Road, Warren, Michigan 48088

Chester will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd, Clinton Township, MI.
