Christopher Francis Kirouac, age 59 of Warren, died Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the Madison Heights Campus of Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital. He was born July 11, 1960 in Detroit, son of the late Jules Andrew and the late Genevieve Lucille (nee: Morang) Kirouac.
From a very young age, Christopher knew he was instilled with a special gift,…the ability to bring joy to others through song and entertainment. That’s why it was no surprise, as his choices lie before him in adulthood, when he chose to be a professional entertainer. Chris didn’t simply enjoy singing and entertaining,…it’s what gave him life and infused him with something special that only a few know. Possessing a booming show voice and the skills of enveloping an audience with his charm and talent, Christopher’s life was an array of entertainment that wowed & amazed the countless throngs of people whose lives were touched by his unique and engaging performances. And not merely a performer, Chris was also quite the scholar and historian when it came to the world of music. Affectionately renowned as a “walking encyclopedia” for all things music and theatre related, Chris was definitely your go-to-guy for information on both. He lived and breathed each genre, and his soul was immersed with a knowledge that only a gifted person could know. Though Chris wore it proudly, he also wore it humbly,…and he made an impact and difference in so many lives.
Like most of us, Christopher enjoyed a good meal,…and it was made even more delightful when the food was exemplary. Being the kind of guy who would choose gourmet ribs over a McRib, his tastes were fine and refined,…and his orders were seldom followed by the words, “you want fries with that?” Along with his penchant for enjoying fine food, Christopher was also known for his skills in cooking and how he loved to prepare a good meal. He surely knew his way around the kitchen and could work some incredible magic with an appliance or two and some preparation space. Creating a good meal provided Chris immense satisfaction,…sharing that meal with others put him over the top. If you left his table hungry, you simply weren’t tryin’!
So whether he was tickling your funny-bone or feeding your belly, either way he was bringing “happy” to your soul and entertaining you with the gifts that simply came natural for Chris. And through the sharing of his talents, Chris was blessed with many life-long friends who loved and cared for him, and stood by him through thick & thin.
A loving son, brother and uncle, Christopher marched to the beat of the only drummer he knew and prayed that his musical heart and entertaining spirit would exchange some of life’s question marks with exclamation points,…and always laughter! Christopher leaves us far too soon in the big picture of life, but goes on ahead to help prepare the way for the reunions to follow. He lived large, laughed often, and leaves a legacy that echoes that of the great one, Frank Sinatra. If you close your eyes, you can probably hear Chris crooning; “I Did It My Way!”
Go Rest High, dear brother,…you will be missed.
Christopher was the beloved brother of Mary Catherine Robinson, Diann Kirouac, Stephen (Neysa) Kirouac, Gilbert (Linda) Kirouac, Daniel Kirouac, Jennifer (Timothy) Ogonowski, the late Timothy Kirouac, the late Gordon Kirouac, and the late Gerard Kirouac. Close friend of Dana Mack. Also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, and sister-in-law, Susan Kirouac.
