Born in the Detroit area to the late Thomas and Ludie Jackson, Ed loved his family and was a devote Christian his entire life. Ed grew up in East Detroit (Eastpointe) where he graduated from East Detroit High School. As a teenager, Ed began teaching Sunday School and went on to do so for over 60 years. A longtime member of the Gideons International, Ed enjoyed spreading the word of God everywhere he went. Ed would help with their yearly blitzes to give bibles to those in need, and was an asset to the local members in fundraising any way he could. A friend to everyone he met both in his community and at work. Ed worked for Merck as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative until retirement. In his free time, Ed, his wife Linda, and their kids would enjoy a yearly camping trip for five weeks to go camping at Myrtle Beach in South Carolina . Everyone would pile into their van and what started as a yearly family vacation grew to their kid’s friends and eventually their grandchildren tagging along as well until they ran out of room in the van. Everyone looked forward to the next trip all year long. Later in life Ed and Linda enjoyed going on cruises together. When he was at home, Ed’s lifetime hobby was woodworking and building model planes and boats. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother, uncle, and friend, Ed will be missed dearly by all who survive him.
