Courtney Margarete Louise Spencer

Courtney Margarete Louise Spencer, age 35 of Southfield, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020. She was born January 20, 1985 in Landstuhl, Germany, daughter of Christopher and Cornelia (nee: Schwarz) Spencer.

Working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), the healthcare industry was the perfect fit for Courtney as she was instilled with a special gift of caring for people and tending to their needs. She always extended her own brand of comfort and compassion that often quickened more healing to her patients than the medications were offering. Just a flash of that beautiful smile and the warmth of her touch could lighten a room and change a mood from sullen to sunny in the blink of an eye.

If Courtney’s mission of taking care of people wasn’t enough, many will forever reflect upon how she loved to make things beautiful,…with one of her greatest expressions being that of painting. Often answering the call of the artist within, her talents were spread across many genres from canvass to murals, and everything in between. To look at her work, there was never a question of her immense skills & inspiration,…and in her own genuine way, Courtney left her mark and helped beautify the world around her.

Courtney was loved by everyone! Perhaps it was the artist within, perhaps the caring healthcare professional, or perhaps it was simply that she was reaping what she sowed,…love returned for love extended. And of all the love she was blessed to share, none was sweeter than that she knew through her precious family and friends. Spread from here to Kentucky, and across the pond to Germany where she was born, Courtney was never at a loss for love,…nor is she now.

A loving mother, daughter and sister, Courtney leaves behind a storehouse of wonderful memories for all to covet who were blessed to know her and be loved by her. Though she leaves us far too soon, it is certainly not without imparting the best of herself and the immeasurable love she held for humanity,…especially those closest to her. She is now God’s angel and is sure to keep her watchful eye peeled on those most precious, her loving and cherished family. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Rest in peace, Courtney.  

Courtney was the beloved mother of Brooklyn and Bryson. Loving daughter of Connie and Chris Spencer. Dear sister of Chassity (Christopher) Oquendo and Colby Spencer.

Visitation for Courtney will be held Saturday, June 20th from 2-5 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren, Michigan.
