Dixie L. Kopitz

Dixie L. Kopitz, age 66, of Warren, died peacefully Monday, January 12, 2009 at her home after a long and hard battle with cancer. She was born January 7, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Francis Steenbergh and the late Dorothy (nee: Stone) Steenbergh. Dixie loved to read, go shopping, play cards and darts. She also loved to travel Up- North to the Apple Festival every year in Charlevoix. Dixie loved being with her family and friends, especially during the Christmas holidays. She would also look forward to her once a month card club night with her dear friends. Dixie is survived by her children, Edward (Linda) Dubry, Michelle (Jim) Legg, Rodney (Kim) Dubry, and Gail (Scott) Venable; her father Francis Steenbergh; her grandchildren, Rhonda, Crystal, Veronica, Christopher, Joey, Zachery, Shalynn, Alexis, Karyn, and Cody; her great-grandchildren, Lea, Ci-Ci, Hanna, Matty, Emily, and Baby Hazel who is on the way; her siblings, Sharon Wagner, Rodney Steenbergh, and Linda Bushey; and her friend and ex-husband, Leonard Kopitz. She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Steenbergh; her brother, Billy Steenbergh; her best friend, Jane Ralph. Visitation for Dixie will be held on Wednesday 11:00 am until time of her Funeral Service at 4:00 pm at the D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile).
