Donna Lou Ellis, age 77 of Warren, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at home. She was born on March 25, 1936 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, daughter of the late Pete and the late Lydia (nee: Stevens) Benoit.A loving mother, grandmother and friend, Donna's greatest delights were those found in the company of loved ones making the memories that she treasured so deeply. Though each was special in their own right, nothing stole her heart more than each and every moment spent with her precious grandchildren. The love she held for them was immeasurable, and their presence never ceased to instill her with immense joy. Family and friends meant the world to Donna, and their times together offered countless hours of fun and entertainment. From a rousing game of cards around the table,...to" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...to the dice-slingin' fun over a game of Yahtzee,...to the challenge of the ever-popular game of Bingo, you could always count on Donna to be a part of the merry-making memories.During those quiet moments of solitude, one of Donna's favorite things to do was to knit and crochet. There was a genuine peacefulness she derived in working with her hands, and the artistry that emanated from her handiwork was both special and beautiful,...just like the artist. Another sense of the fun she enjoyed was found in her love of boating. A sunny day on the water was always the perfect escape from the demands of life, a sporting pleasure she just couldn't get enough of. Donna leaves behind a myriad of loved ones who were blessed to know her compassion and kindness. She touched a multitude of hearts and souls through her journey in life. That legacy will remain and be a constant reminder, with each passing thought and reflection, of how deeply she cared and nurtured those special relationships that meant so much. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Donna was the beloved mother of Debbie DeFour, Denise Kirsten, Joseph (Cindy) Griffith, Kimberly Holmes, Ronald (Vicky) Ellis, Peter (Carolyn) Ellis, and Bobbi Sue Ellis.
