

Edith R. Bogenrieder, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at St. John Macomb Oakland Hospital - Warren Campus in Warren. She was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, September 3, 1922 to the late William Hagedorn and the late Lena (nee: Oming) Hagedorn. Edith was a kind and beautiful lady, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all she knew. Also she was a very proud woman, particular in appearance and privacy as well. Edith had ten siblings and raised seven children alone. She taught her children well, they learned many wonderful traits from her example. Respect, frugalness and giving of oneself to others in need. Edith never stopped thinking of others up until her death. She cared for her familys happiness and safety at all time, and loved each family member unconditionally for different reasons. Her children were her love and joy. She will be missed by all her family including her brother and sisters whom she kept in constant contact with. Edith was hard worker and very determined all of her life, which helped her overcome adversity. However she enjoyed simple things the season of Spring was her favorite time of year, a new beginning flowering trees, the celebration of Easter, and the warm months ahead. She loved flowers, her favorite being snapdragons, lilacs, and carnations, with irises and peonies following a close second. Edith also enjoyed baking many pies and cookies for others. She was famous for her pineapple cream pies. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Also she traveled a bit and spent fun times at the casinos. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. Edith is survived by her children, Carolyn R. Lewandowski, Elaine Neil, Joyce (Bill) Stimpson, Kathleen (Ronald) Rempe; her siblings Ella DeVore, Fredrick Hegeforn, and Hazel Price; also survived by 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; and her daughter in law Cynthia Morian. Edith was predeceased by her children, Richard, Sharon, David, Linda, and Beverly; her parents William and Lena Hagedorn. She will lie in state Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Dorothy Catholic Church in Warren, Michigan until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Officiating the service will be Father Thomas Puzio. Visitation for Edith will be Friday 3-9 pm at the funeral home. Please share memories of Edith at her guest book.
