Edward Herman Marola

Edward H. Marola, age 73 of Harrison Township, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 31, 1937 in Union Town, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Herman and the late Sylvia (nee: Calabrease) Marola. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay tribute to Edward for his service to our country. As a Private in the United States Marine Corps, he answered the call to duty and served with pride in protecting the freedoms & liberties we enjoy today because he was there. Edward was employed by the Ford Motor Company where he worked as a Gear Analyst. When he wasn't working, one of his favorite passions was spending time in the out-of-doors. Often, that would entail a trip to the ol' fishing hole, or scouring the woods for the "prey of the day" on the many hunting ventures he enjoyed. When it came time for vacationing, his favorite getaway spot was always the rural setting of Clare, Michigan. Every year, he and his family would find true contentment and relaxation at their home away from home. Along with the technical skills he possessed in effecting his career, Edward also had an artistic side that was realized through his talents in pencil drawing and sketching. With a unique and impressive flare, his creativity offered a genuine expression of the artist within. Yet as much as he loved to draw, there were no greater masterpieces in his life than the many loved ones he drew unto himself. His family & friends meant the world to him, and each moment in their company was treasured from deep within his heart. He leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, and warm memories that will keep him close in the hearts of all the lives he touched. Edward will be especially missed by his dear Golden Retriever, Bella as he is reunited in heaven with his beloved Black Lab, and faithful companion, Gunner. He was the beloved husband of Judy, and the late Carol. Dear father of Michael (Randi) Marola, Dean (Cindy) Marola, Lisa Francis, Matthew Marola, and stepfather of Jill (Mike) Rosenmund, Jenny (Don) Hazel, Michael (Sarah) Manzella, and Lisa Manzella. Loving grandfather of twelve. Brother to Elizabeth (Tino) Fischione, Richard (Carol) Marola, Ang Cuppetelli, the late Lewis, and the late Robert. A Memorial Visitation for Edward will be held on Friday, January 14th from 6-8pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. His Service will be at 7:30pm, followed by military honors by the United States Marine Corp at 8pm. Please share memories of Edward at his guest book.
