Edwin J. Samko, age 90, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Windemere Park Assisted Living in Warren, Michigan. Edwin was born August 30, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late John and the late Stella (nee: Rogers) Samko. Ed was raised in Hamtramck and later served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Following his military service, Ed went to work for General Motors where he was employed as a tool & die maker for over 30 years before retiring.Ed and his wife moved to Warren, Michigan in 1957 where they raised their two children in the new & growing bedroom community of Macomb County. Ed and his wife were married for over 63 years.Edwin Samko was the beloved husband of Helen, and is the dear father of Kenneth Samko and Patti Samko-Guarino. He was also the loving grandfather of Rosemarie Guarino, Edward Guarino, and Brittany Samko. Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, in Warren. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan will take place at a future date. Please share memories of Ed at his memory book above.
