Elaine was a Metro Detroiter but found her true home in Warren, the place she loved most. She devoted her life to caring for others as a nurse and took great pride in her remarkable career that spanned more than 50 years. Helping her clients was not just her profession, it was her calling.
Elaine shared over 40 loving years with her partner, Bob, until his passing. Together they built a life filled with travel, laughter, and adventure. They enjoyed visiting art shows, weekend trips to Eastern Market, and memorable trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Australia.
From a young age, Elaine loved cooking and became especially known for her soups and her beloved meatloaf. She also found joy in gardening and took pleasure in simple routines that brought beauty and comfort to her days.
Elaine was cheery, positive, independent, strong-willed, generous, and spunky. She faced life with resilience and grace, never dwelling on the past and always moving forward with strength. In her later years, her cat, Coconut, was her pride and joy and brought her constant companionship.
Elaine will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her compassion, her unwavering independence, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of care, kindness, and strength lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Elaine was the loving mother of John and Mark (Carin). Adored grandmother of Alex Palazzolo. Dear sister of the late Betty (the late Bill) Kotwicki. Beloved partner of the late Bob Ban for over 40 years and she is survived by his children Rob (Brenda) Ban and Jennifer (Larry) Coker. Dearest aunt of Kiersten, Patrick, and Alissa. She is also survived by her loving daughter-in-law Julie and her cherished cat Coconut.
