Elvira Esperanza Montez

July 14, 1971 – May 7, 2026

Elvira (Mona) Esperanza Montez was welcomed home by our Heavenly Father on May 7, 2026. She was born on July 14, 1971, to SanJuanita and Juan Montez of Corpus Christi, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her mother SanJuanita Montez, her father, Juan Montez, her brother, Dezi Montez, her sister, Stephanie Montez, and her son Corey Mahan.

She is survived by her significant other, Steve, her sister, Janie Montez, and her three sons, Charlie Mahan, Christopher Mahan, and David (Jocelyn) Elizondo, her niece, Brianna, many grandchildren, Aunts and Uncle, and several cousins.

Elvira was known for her beautiful sense of humor, contagious laughter, and extraordinary singing voice. She loved making others smile with her favorite quotes from The Wizard of Oz and Grease, and she brought joy and laughter wherever she went.

Above all, Elvira loved her children and her family deeply. She shared over 25 years of love and companionship with Steve, her devoted partner and best friend. Together they faced life side by side, always finding comfort in one another.

Elvira (Mona) now joins her parents and siblings in eternal peace. While we grieve her loss here on earth, we rejoice in the promise that she is free from pain, reunited with loved ones, and resting in God’s grace.

Elvira (Mona), you are forever loved. Forever remembered. Until we meet again.
