Ethel L. Cenkner, age 93, of Rochester Hills, passed away April 26, 2021. Born October 10, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Gilbert and Helen (nee: Habarth) Pecar. Caring wife of the late Edward, loving mother of David (Sandra) and Donald (Virginia). Dearest sister of the late Allen (Rose) Pecar, the late George (Barbara) Pecar, the late Joseph (the late Nancy) Pecar and James (Carole) Pecar. Proud grandmother of Jeffrey Cenkner and Laurie (Robert Black), and great-grandmother to Carly Black. Cherished by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ethel was a 1944 Charter class graduate of Dominican High School, Detroit.
With her great interest in state and local governments she was active sponsoring fundraisers for candidates and city issues, composing brochures, letters, etc., always advocating the rights of citizens and their property. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching games of the Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons.
In her strong faith, she supported EWTN (Catholic TV Network) and took part in their daily programs and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to EWTN (Catholic TV Network).
Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 3pm until 8pm with a Rosary at 6:45pm at AH Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd., Warren. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, April 30, 2021 in state at 10am until time of funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Mary Queen of Creation Catholic Church, 50931 Maria Street, New Baltimore.
