Hedwig Theresa Jerzowski, “Hedy,” age 90 of Rochester Hills, and formerly of Fraser, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 14, 1928 in Detroit, daughter of the late Stanley and the late Frances (nee: Stemczynski) Tucholski.
Most often, it is one of the funeral directors who assist the family in scripting an obituary. But then there are times, like now, when the family truly seeks to tell their loved ones story through their own heart and thoughts,…and so here are the words as shared by Hedy’s children, their tribute to Mom.
“Our mother, Hedwig (“Hedy”) Jerzowski, nurtured us, pampered our Dad, and our pets. She was an excellent cook and baker, especially when it came to her delectable Lemon Meringue Pie, and was a huge part of making our childhood home a place where we always felt safe and loved. She and our Dad showed us their strength of character daily, and also their love for God. Mom was a prayer warrior for all and a light to whoever she met. In her daily prayers, she read from several prayer books with her favorite being those about the life and times of the Venerable Father Solanus Casey.
Mom loved her “3 Millions” (the term of endearment she used for her 3 children), and her “2 Billions” for her two granddaughters. She was a loving mother-in-law, aunt, and friend to the countless lives she touched on her path through life. Today, August 10, 2019, just a bit shy of her 91st birthday, she went on a journey with God to her everlasting home. We can see our Dad reaching out with both arms to embrace his Hedy, along with so many loved ones that went on before her. To say she will be missed is a huge understatement. Rest in peace, our beloved Mom (“Matka”), until we meet again.”
“Each zbogiem kohana” (translated: “Go With God, Loved One.”)
Hedy was the beloved wife of the late Albin. Dearest mother of Ann Jerzowski, Stephen (Ellen) Jerzowski, and Karen (Mark) Cooper. Loving grandmother of Emily Cooper and Brittany Jerzowski. Sister of the late Ted Tucholski. Cherished aunt of Kathleen (Greg), Paul, Mark (Sue), Eric (Peggy), Audrey, Art (Joan), Carol (David), Bob (Judy), the late Ray Jr., and the late Loretta (the late Art). Hedy leaves sister-in-law, Wanda Tucholski, and was preceded in death by her husband’s siblings, Josephine (Ray), Sophie, Mary, and Stella.
