

Henry Stanley Sadocha, age 91, died Friday, January 23, 2015 at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Macomb Center in Warren, Michigan. Henry was born May 9, 1923 in Hamtramck, Michigan, son of the late John Sadocha and the late Stella (nee: Perzanowski) Sadocha.Henry was raised in Hamtramck and later served his country in the United States Merchant Marines. Following his honorable service, Henry would return to Michigan and eventually marry the love of his life, Gloria on October 19, 1957 at Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. Their holy matrimony would last for over 58 years and produce a legacy spanning four generations. Henry and his young family eventually settled in Warren, Michigan where the young couple raised four children.As a young adult, Henry served as an automotive apprenticeship with Ford Motor Company and later went to work for General Motors as a Tool & Die Maker where his tenure would last for more than thirty years before his retirement. Henry was proud of his achievements while working and was also proud of his membership with the United Auto Workers.When Henry was not working, he would often escape to his Northern Michigan retreat in Hale, Michigan. He held a passion for fishing, hunting, and family time while relaxing at his cabin. Following his retirement, Henry could never fully slow down. He stayed active with the U.A.W., his Walleye Club, and also the Trentini Italian Club of Detroit and Windsor, Canada. Additionally, Henry returned to the workforce by way of his son's company, Detroit Cutlery sharing his skilled talents from his days in tooling. He worked for his son until he turned 88,...however always considering his greatest achievement to be his wonderful family and grandchildren, and the lesson of giving back to others less fortunate. Henry and his grandchildren volunteered their time with the Life Handicap Fishing.Henry Sadocha was the beloved husband of Chloris "Gloria". Loving father of Virginia (Samuel) Ambe, John (Susan), Tom (Sandy), and Paul (Beth) Sadocha. Devoted grandfather of 13 and great grandfather of 5. Caring brother of Irene (the late Walter) Mastalier. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Sadocha will be held on Monday, January 26th from 3-9pm, with a 5:30pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren. Mr. Sadocha will lie In State on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Faustina Catholic Church in Warren.In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to The Capuchin Soup Kitchen or Paint a Miracle Rochester.
