James Nels Baker

James Nels Baker, age 78 and formerly of Warren, Michigan, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at McLaren Port Huron Hospital in Port Huron Michigan. James was born March 13, 1936 in Stambaugh, Michigan, son of the late Frank Baker and the late Frances (nee: Belland) Baker. James was raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michgan and later served in the United States Air Force while stationed in Lincoln, Nebraska. After his military service, James joined AC Spark Plug Company which found him making his new home in West Allis, Wisconsin. Later he moved to Warren, Michigan where he worked for General Motors at the Warren Tech Center, retiring in 2001 after 41 years of dedicated service.James was the beloved husband of the late Madelyn, and dearest father of Julie (Tracy) Erwin and Kurt (Merri-Jo) Baker. He is the loving grandfather of Shannon, Justin, Dylan, Shaun and Sarah, and brother of Jeanne and William. Mr. Baker was predeceased by his son, Kevin, and siblings; Frank, Celeste, Irene, Fernette, Clarence, Adele, and Murray. A Memorial Visitation for James will be held Saturday, January 17th from 1-5pm, with a 4:30pm Memorial Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd at Common (12 1/2 Mile) in Warren. Please share memories of James at his memory book above.
