James Daniel Wisniewski, age 82 of Warren, died May 5, 2020 at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 6, 1937, to his late parents, John and Mary Wisniewski (nee: Blazak).
James honorably served our country in the United States Army, having been stationed in Germany during the fall of the Berlin Wall. Following his return, he met the love of his life, Jacqueline, while working side by side. Together, they spent 56 wonderful years of marriage and created a beautiful family with their 3 children, and eventually 5 grandchildren.
James worked for Chrysler Automotive for 38 years as an experimental trimmer. One of his proudest achievements while in their employ was working on the team that restored the interior seating of former President Harry S.Truman’s vehicle to be placed in his presidential museum.
James was an avid lover of all sports. He played football for St. Rita’s High School in Detroit, and throughout life enjoyed bowling, racquetball, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He especially enjoyed attending his own grandchildren’s sporting events. In his leisure time, James also enjoyed gardening and tending to his tomato plants.
The most important thing James will be remembered for is being a Family Man. He loved his family more than anything and looked forward to spending time with them especially around the holidays. He was known for his witty one-liners and treating everything as if it were a game. He referred to everyone as “Jr.” even if he knew your name. The love James leaves behind is a testimony to a man of compassion who truly made a difference in so many lives. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally by all.
James was the loving husband of Jacqueline. Cherished father of Karen (Chris) Hinkle, Sandra (Thomas) Conniff, and Terri Wisniewski. Adored grandfather of Andrew, Sara, Frank, Rachel, and Shailyn. Dear brother of Daniel (Cynthia). He was preceded in death by his siblings Edward, Robert, John, and Ronnie. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in James’ name, are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd.) in Warren.
