Jamie Marie Logan, age 27 of Meridian, Mississippi, and formerly of Warren, died Thursday, October 24, 2013.A "Shining Star" gone far too soon from our presence, there's no question of the impact she had on many through her lessons of strength, perseverance, and faith. One of the most telling examples was how she managed her illness and beat many of the odds that were stacked against her. In 1999, at the young age of 13, Jamie was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, a diagnosis that would leave she and her family stunned in disbelief and weary of the future. Her life expectancy was drastically diminished to nothing more than imminent at best. But to this girl who LOVED the South, "them was fightin' words!" And fight she did,...for the next 14 years!!! Perhaps opinions would differ as to how she was able to withstand the battles, but there's no mistaking many of the "positive" things that got her through. Like the trip to Disneyworld she enjoyed through the graciousness of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Or the comfort she found through the embrace of her Mom's blue blanket when the going got tough and the yellow crayon got replaced with gray. More of what provided her the fuel for her strength was found in the excitement and memories created while traveling the highways and byways of America on vacation. She was fortunate to have taken in many-a-breathtaking sight and blessed to have experienced many of the scenic masterpieces that make up our great country. Jamie truly loved the USA, especially the southern states with their rich history and comforting hospitality. She was so taken with them that she eventually decided to relocate,...first to North Carolina, then to Mississippi.Amidst all she went through, Jamie was quite proud of the milestone she achieved in 2006 when she attained her GED,...which would ultimately lead to her continuing education in the Business Administration classes she took. Bettering herself was held precious in both her mind & heart, and her drive and determination was an inspiration to all.Jamie possessed a number of fun, cute, creative, and colorful traits that made their own, individual statements of this unique and genuine girl. When it comes to the "fun" side, Jamie loved having a great time and drew everybody in with her infectious sense of humor and the desire to share the joys in life. She loved to laugh, and to share it with others,...because laughter is the best medicine. When it came to "cute," there was no more loyal fan of "Hello Kitty" than Jamie. An avid collector of the feline pieces, they forever brought her a special sense of joy. As for her "creative" side, she definitely had an ear for music and enjoyed both listening to it and expressing it through singing. Not only did she enjoy singing, but also found the various singing competition shows on television quite entertaining. And then there's the "colorful" aspect. Whether through the various statements in her hair color, or the dynamic expressions in her body art, those who knew Jamie can attest to the bold and vibrant person she was, and how that caused you to love her even more. She was a life-force that was unmatched by any. She brought out the finer points of each person that made her acquaintance. And without a doubt, she touched a multitude of hearts & souls along the way. She taught us all so much,...with her testament being how to fight the good fight of faith, and to love unconditionally. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally. Jamie was the beloved sister of Scott Logan and Charissa Grindling. Loving granddaughter of Jan Heisler. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, John & Pamela.A Memorial Service for Jamie will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 30th at the Heritage Baptist Church, 8291 E. 14 Mile Road in Sterling Heights.
