

Greenwell, Jason “Jay”, age 36, March 18, 2022. Beloved son of the late Randall and the late Annette. Dear brother of Jessie (Jason) Zielinski. Proud uncle of Isabel, Abigail, Eduard with one more coming. Loving Nephew of Jill (Anthony) Greenwell-Meldrum and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is loved and missed by his many close friends that he thought of as family and will always be in our hearts. He loved talking to his friends and family, if not in person then over the phone where a conversation would last for hours. Jay enjoyed listening to music and loved reading, especially Stephen King novels. He was an intellectual who enjoyed writing, kept his own journals and was working on the writing of a short story. Jay had a passion for cooking and turned that passion into a career. He loved cooking for his family and friends, even at a young age. Jay was proud to be a chef who was very happy to share his love of cooking with everyone. He enjoyed both cooking and eating Mexican food and is known for his guacamole. He is known for his big heart, passion for others and his willingness to help others. In 2019 he became a Catholic, attending Mass at Assumption Grotto. He read a number of religious books and was eager to share his beliefs with others.
Instate Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:30am until the time of a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Assumption Grotto Church, 13770 Gratiot Avenue in Detroit. Interment at Assumption Grotto Cemetery.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
