She was a proud graduate of Saint Gregory High School, Class of 1961. On October 5, 1969, Joyce married the love of her life, Edgar Derouin, beginning a marriage built on devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
Joyce dedicated many years as a stay-at-home mother, pouring her heart into raising her children. After they were grown, she enjoyed taking on small retail jobs, always staying busy and social. One of her proudest roles later in life was serving as a Hospice Health Aide, a position she truly cherished. Caring for others came naturally to Joyce, and she found deep purpose in offering comfort and compassion during life’s most difficult moments.
Joyce loved life and knew how to enjoy it. She had a fondness for casino trips, traveling up north, and exploring Michigan, but one of her favorite places was the Cross in the Woods in Indian River, Michigan, where she found peace and reflection. A true patriot, Joyce was proud of her country and the values she lived by.
She will be remembered as kind, loving, sassy, selfless, and funny—a woman who could make you laugh, tell it like it was, and still wrap you in warmth all at once. Above all else, Joyce adored her precious grandchildren, devoting countless hours, endless love, and a lifetime of memories to them.
Joyce’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
She was the beloved wife of the late Edger. Dear mother of Elaine (David) Getts, Lisa (Kevin) White, Linda Derouin, Paul (Denise) Derouin, and the late Steven, and James Derouin. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer (Adam Radzinski) McCausland, Christine Getts, Samantha (Nicholas) Peters, Joseph (Abby) White, Allie White, Brendan Derouin, Jacob Trontoski, Jeffery (Heather) Derouin, Scott (Susannah) Derouin, Anne Derouin, and Elizabeth (Matt) Lamore. Great grandmother of Bailey and Harper Radzinski, Lucy, and Leo Peters, Harry White, Emma and Max Derouin, Caleb, Noah, Toby, and Ben Derouin, and Aria Derouin. Sister of the late Joann (Larry) Taylor. She was also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation of Joyce will be held on Saturday 3-7pm with an 6pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road).
