Larry Stanley Knapik, age 68 of Harrison Township, died Monday, December 22, 2025 in Mount Clemens.
He was born on January 17, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Stanley and Leona (nee: Kasinski) Knapik. Larry worked many years at Allan Tool in Troy, MI. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved to talk, he would make conversation with anyone anywhere, he never knew a stranger. Everywhere he went making friends and was always a friendly face no matter how he felt. He fought Pancreatic Cancer for the past 7 years and kept a positive attitude and kept fighting with all he had. He was a true inspiration, he kept living a normal life despite all his health issues. He lived his life for his kids and grandkids. They were everything to him, he never missed a birthday party, soccer game, basketball game, cheer competition, band concert or anything that was going on, he was always a constant and you could count on him to be there cheering them on. Larry loved old cars and going to car shows with his most prized physical possession, his 1957 Chevy Belaire, he loved cruising around and showing it off. Larry also enjoyed camping, hanging out with his neighbor family, drinking tea on the porch and just visiting with anyone who would talk to him. Larry had a huge heart and stories for days. He is one of those people that leave a hole that no one else can fill, when they are taken. He was married 38 years to his loving wife, Sue. They were blessed with two children, Emily and Andrew. Most of all, Papa's greatest joy in life were his grandchildren; Brooklyn, Lincoln, James, Nate, Grace and Levi. He adored them immensely, and leaves them to cherish the "Papa moments" that were always so important to him. This faithful, fun and loving man leaves a legacy of love that will be remembered by all whose lives were touched through his kindness and compassion.
Larry was the beloved husband of the late Wanda Sue Knapik. He was the dear father of Emily (Jerome) Powell and Andrew (Lauren) Knapik. Loving Papa of Brooklyn, Lincoln, James, Nathaniel, Grace, Levi and soon to be Baby Girl in April. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
