Leocadia "Kathy" Schulte, age 71 of Warren, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at McLaren Macomb Hospital in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was born June 24, 1945 in Germany, daughter of the late Joseph and the late Antonina (nee: Priatka) Szot.Possessing natural talents in graphic design and commercial art, Kathy's skills and expertise were realized in many projects at both the Fox Theater in Detroit, and with the Detroit Red Wings organization as well. When not working, Kathy enjoyed an array of different pastimes that met both her inside and outside desires. When indoors, you would often find her engrossed in one of her craft projects,…which was simply another branch on the tree of her artistic capabilities. She was also quite attached to her Word Search puzzles. It wasn't rare to see her sitting with one, giving her mental strength a good workout. Yet her indoor pastimes took on an entirely different pleasure when it was time for a little card playing. She loved sitting around the table with family and friends alike, sharing in a bit of conversation and laughter, and prayin' for a lucky hand. Playing a game of cards was always the recipe for an evening of fun and wonderful memories. When it came time for pastimes outside of the house, one of her favorites was pouring her own brand of TLC into her precious garden. She loved tilling the soil and getting her hands dirty,…especially knowing that her devoted efforts were going to produce a thing of beauty. For Kathy, gardening was more than merely the work involved,…it was an extension of the beauty that lie within the caretaker. Another of her outdoor favorites was found in the glories of camping, particularly sitting around the campfire with loved ones in tow. There was always some kind of fun to be had while being mesmerized by the flames,…not to mention the tasty marshmallows and S'mores that were enjoyed in the process. And speaking of tasty treats, there was little much that Kathy enjoyed more than one of the renowned burgers at Miller's in Dearborn. Her dining pleasures were never more satisfied than when consuming one of those famous, finger-lickin' good patties from Heaven. Then there was her unquenchable taste for those cool & creamy Big Boy milkshakes,…a Michigan icon and definite "sweet release" for Kathy. Yet of all those pastimes and treats, many of Kathy's greatest joys were wrapped in the love and compassion she held for her precious poodles, Rocky, Rambo and Hershey. Almost as much as her two-legged loved ones,…these fuzzy, four-legged friends worked their way into her heart and became a wonderful source of warmth and friendship, something every pet lover will attest to. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Kathy leaves a storehouse of treasured moments, enjoyed with loved ones, to be embraced with each reflection shared. She touched countless hearts and lives along the way and inspired others with her kindness and compassion. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.Kathy was the beloved wife of the late Richard. Dear mother of Dottie (Maggie Morgan) Schulte, Kim (Mark) Fitzgerald, and William (Lisa) Schulte. Loving grandmother of Katie and Nickolas. Sister of Helen Walsh, Stanley (Rocio) Szot, and John Szot. She leaves to cherish her memory, her Best & Lifelong Friend, Frances. Also surviving are her neighborhood friends, "Our Gang," which includes The Georgevich's, Gravels', Luke's, and Pyrek's.Visitation for Kathy will take place on Thursday, July 14th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at the Funeral Home.
