Leticia L. Madding

Leticia L. (nee: VanHaverbeke) Madding, age 73 of Valrico, Florida, and formerly of Warren, Michigan, died Sunday, September 12, 2004 at St. John Macomb Hospital Center in Warren, after suffering from complications from an auto accident. Mrs. Madding was born November 20, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Marcel VanHaverbeke and the late Evelyn (nee: Prell) VanHaverbeke. She is the loving mother of Marcia (Wes) Massey, Nancy (Walter) Szostek, and Scott (Lisa) Madding. Dear grandmother of Paul, Tracy, Jay, Walter, Stacey, Megan, Tim, and Chris. Great-grandmother of Gabrielle, Courtney, Brendan, and Brianne. Beloved sister of Neal VanHaverbeke. Mrs. Madding was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Willie Bill Madding. Mr. Madding died August 6th, of this year after suffering injuries from an auto accident him and his wife were involved in. Mrs. Madding was raised on the east side of Detroit and graduated in 1949 from Eastern High School. Mrs. Madding and her husband retired to Florida, where she and her husband sang with a senior group called the Feather Rockers, which would entertain for seniors in and around the Valrico-Tampa area. She also was very involved with Meals on Wheels and was a member of the local Red Hat Society, and active with her church, First Methodist of Brandon Florida. She loved to cook, play bridge and spend time with family and friends. Her children said that her passion was her family. Mr. Madding worked for over thirty years as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. During his career he mainly delivered mail to the Grosse Pointe area. Mr. Madding, like his wife, loved his family and people, always willing to share a laugh. A Memorial Service for both Mr. & Mrs. Madding will be held 7:00 pm, September 28th at the Madison Heights Church of the Nazarene, 555 East 13 Mile, in Madison Heights Michigan 48071.
