Marie Ann Giasson

Marie Ann Giasson, age 68, died Friday, December 21, 2018 at her home in Warren, Michigan with her family by her side. Marie was born October 18, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Arthur Jutte and the late Helen (nee: Keller) Jutte.Marie was raised in Center Line where she attended and graduated from St. Clement Catholic High School. Marie went on to attend and graduate from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in teaching.Following her schooling, Marie found her first job with the Macomb Intermediate School District teaching at the Keith Bovenshen School for the next five years. Marie eventually took a sabbatical from teaching to begin her family.Marie cherished her family and enjoyed raising and teaching her four children. She was active with her children's extracurricular activities and was the consummate teacher. Once her children were grown, Marie returned to teaching,...first at St. Francis Catholic School in Detroit, and later at Our Lady of La Salette in Berkley, Michigan. Marie loved her students and also the joy of teaching the kids within the Catholic faith. She would continue to teach at Our Lady of La Salette until the school closed.When most people would ease into retirement, Marie never gave up on her passion for teaching and found another job with Our Lady of the Lakes in Prudenville near Houghton Lake, Michigan. Again, she passionately loved to teach her students within the Christian faith.Quiet time away from teaching usually involved spending time with her family and grandchildren,... at times, taking long walks in the woods or by the lakes in northern Michigan with her dog, or simply curling up with a good book in her chair. She was a woman of simple needs with a deep devotion to her family and her faith. Marie will be forever remembered and deeply missed by all whom she has met and touched throughout her life.Marie was the beloved wife of Mark L. Giasson, and the cherished mother of Melanie Ann (Shaun) VanHorn, Mark R. Giasson, Mary Giasson (Ryan Smith Keim), and Michael John Giasson. She is also the loving grandmother of Maria, William, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Tyler, and Brycen. Further survivors include her siblings, Arthur (Michelle) Jutte, Dr. Mary Jutte ( Robert O'toole) , Joe Jutte, John Jutte, Donna (Robert) Kamphous, and Marilyn (Pat) Guerin. Marie is also survived by many loving family members and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Giasson will be held Thursday, December 27th from 3-9 pm, with a 7 pm Vigil Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren. Mrs. Giasson will lie in state on Friday from 10:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Blase Catholic Church, 12151 Fifteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr.
