Marilyn’s long and full life was a testament to her strength, stubbornness, and above all, the deep, fierce love she had for her family and friends — that love will remain her greatest legacy.
At 14 years old, Marilyn met the love of her life, Jerry. It was love at first sight for her and she immediately told him she was going to marry him one day. She was right! They married in 1953 and celebrated 44 wonderful years together, before Jerry passed in 1997.
One of her favorite things was sitting and chatting with her family and friends at her infamous kitchen table, where you would always find her with her iPad, Tim Horton’s coffee, Diet Pepsi and Twinkies. At that kitchen table, she would share stories, memories and help solve all of your problems. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader, providing endless encouragement and praise. In her eyes, those that she loved could do no wrong, and you couldn’t convince her otherwise.
Marilyn had a love for words and used that talent in a few ways. She would send out cards for all occasions, making them on her computer using her Hallmark app, decorating the envelopes with stickers and writing heartfelt messages or even personal poems inside. She used her writing talent to author a children’s book, as well. “Nancy’s Glad, Sad, Glad Day” was a story about a little girl who got lost in the zoo. This book was recently published as a gift for her family, who treasure it.
Every time an Elvis song is heard, her friends and family will know she is sending love from above, as he was her forever crush. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were lucky enough to be part of her life.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jerry. Loving mother of Randy (Dawn) Morford, Kevin (CeCe) Morford, Karol (Jeff) Thompson, and Rob (Kathy) Morford. Devoted grandmother of Suzanne (Don) Heath, Zach (Marissa) Morford, Rachael (Derek) Jones, Alyssa (Kevyn) Boa, Kayla Morford, Ryan (Audrey) Wolfe, Adam (Casey) Wolfe, Chelsea (Matt) Gladki, Brittany (Alex) Boa, Marissa Morford, Caleb (Renae) Thompson, and Jackie Thompson. Dear great-grandmother of Alexis, Olivia, Emma, Ethan, Amelia, Lucy, and Wyatt. Sister of June (Ralph) Ford, the late Robert (Connie) Spalding, and the late Pat (Bev) Spalding. Dearest friend of DeeDee Wojtanowski, and the late Mame Andrzejewski.
