Marion W. Linscheid

Marion W. Linscheid, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2008. She was the beloved wife of Fred, dear mother of Beth and Jim Duff, Laura and Don Gillain, and Ann Linscheid (Tim Griggs). She is the loving grandmother of Stephanie and Matthew Gillain, and Larry and Alex Duff. She is survived by a niece and three nephews. Marion was born in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan on June 3, 1921, Marion attended Western Michigan University and returned to the Detroit area to begin her career. Marion met Fred while working as the first woman buyer for the J. L. Hudson Company in 1944. They were married April 14, 1945, and soon started their family, Beth, Laura and Ann. Marion had spent much time as a youngster in Port Huron with her loving maternal grandmother, so when Fred had an opportunity through Ernst and Ernst CPA firm to open an office there in 1958, the family relocated to a home where they enjoyed growing up on Lake Huron. Marion spent her time raising the 3 daughters and working many volunteer hours for the Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary. Freds CPA practice flourished, and in 1970 he opened his own office which continues today as Austin, Lashbrook & Associates. While Marion experienced excellent health most of her life, her decline in later years led to full time care. She was very fortunate to be able to live her last years at Angel from Albania in Troy, Michigan, where she received the very most loving and best care possible. The family is so very appreciative of the care she received, they suggest, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be sent to Angel from Albania, 2420 W. Square Lake Road, Troy, MI 48098. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak. Family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 10:00 am.
