

Marjorie Alice Harriss, age 74 and longtime resident of Warren, died January 4, 2014 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. Marjorie was born July 7, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Allen Thomas Howes and the late Alice Virginia (nee: Daldine) Howes.Marjorie was raised in Detroit and graduated from St. Ambrose Catholic School. Following her schooling, Marjorie worked for Western Union as a teletypist. Soon Marjorie met the love of her life, Paul and the young couple settled in Warren, Michigan where they would raise their four sons.As Mrs. Harriss' sons got older, she returned to the workforce at Hardy's Restaurant while still caring and being home after school for her boys. When Marjorie was not working, she and her husband enjoyed bowling, square dancing, and traveling. Quiet time at home was spent crocheting.After Marjorie's husband retired, the two traveled the western United States in their RV, visiting many states and sites including Mount Rushmore and the Pacific Coast. The couple also spent winters in Zephyrhills, Florida.Marjorie Harriss was the beloved wife of Paul A. Harriss, and dear mother of Robert Harriss, Don (Cheryl) Harriss, David Harriss, and James (Mary) Harriss. Marjorie was the cherished sister of Nancy (Keith) Leuffgen, Allen (Jean) Howes, John Howes, Michael (Kathy) Howes, and Frank Howes. Mrs. Harriss is also survived by seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Visitation for Mrs. Harriss will be Thursday from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road). Closing Prayers will take place on Friday, 11:30am at the Funeral Home.
