Martha "Toots" Cummins

Martha A. "Toots" Cummins (nee: Sauger) Age 79 died Monday July 15, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Toots was born in Detroit July 25, 1933 the daughter of the late John G. Sauger and the late Anna (nee: Kapolka) Sauger. She attended and graduated from St. Cyril Catholic School in Detroit and later went to work for various employers primarily as a clerk and in the Dry Cleaning business.When Toots was not working her daughter, grandchildren, and family were paramount in her life. She had a caring soul and would make a pot of good healing chicken soup when one of her family members or friends were sick. The chicken soup recipe was passed down from her mother. Toots also enjoyed the casinos and lotto scratch-offs. She had a bit of a green thumb and loved her vegetable garden and flowers.Toots passed on her love of sewing to her daughter and also her commitment to family... you may argue and fight some days with your family members, however you always loved them because they were your family.Martha "Toots" Sauger was the beloved wife of the late Chuck. She was the loving mother of Kathy (Don) Hill, and devoted grandmother of Brad, Tony, Ronnie, and great-grandmother of Alyssa, Alexis, Bradley, Noah, Connor, Makala, and Landon. Dear sister of Stephen (JoAnne) Sauger, Regis (Connie) Sauger, Marvin (Leah) Sauger, Ron (Joan) Sauger, Richard (Diane) Sauger, Larry (Michele) Sauger and the late Julia, Margaret, Mary, and Leonard.Visitation for Toots will be Wednesday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. at Common (12 1/2 mile). Funeral Services will be held Thursday 11am at the funeral home. Please share memories of Toots at her guest book.
