Mary Alice Harris

Mary Alice Harris, age 68 of Warren, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Sanctuary at the Abbey Nursing Home in Warren, Michigan. Mary was born on January 19, 1947 to Joe Harris and Willie F. Skinner in Proctor, Arkansas. Mary worked as a housekeeper within the hotel industry. For all who were blessed to know this wonderful lady, Mary was a devoted mother and faithful to Jesus Christ, her Savior. Mary's children remember their mother as a wonderful cook and a person who took great care in gardening. She loved interior decorating, fishing, and searching for antiques at the local yard sales.Mary Alice Harris is survived by her husband Mathis Hassell. She was the loving mother of William Joe Hassell, Mathis Hassell Jr., Bobbie Hassell, Rickey Hassell, and Teronda Moore. She is further survived by her sisters Lillie, Ida, her six grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and host of cousins and friends. Mary was predeceased by her father and mother, and a son, David R. Hassell. Also preceding her in death are siblings, Okarie Brown, Jerline Moore, Jasper Harris, and Bobbie Boyd. Visitation for Mary will be held on Saturday, August 15th from 2-6pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile). Her Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
